617.635.8149 (Beethoven) 617.635.8157 (Ohrenberger)

Dear Beethoven-Ohrenberger families,

Here are a few updates as we are currently in school closure due to the coronavirus.

Website – We have developed a google site that will have work and other information for families during this time. Each grade level has a page and is adding work and activities for the students. Please be patient with us, this is new and we are trying our best to ensure materials are up for families.

Facebook – If you have not already followed our facebook page, Beethoven Ohrenberger K-8, we will have a read aloud every day at noon posted. Every day a different celebrity will read a picture book (today it is Oprah Winfrey reading The Hula Hoopin’ Queen by Thelma Lynne Godin!). It is a great opportunity to have a literacy break around lunch time.

Meals – If you need to get meals through the BPS, here is a link to the meal sites throughout the city. Fortunately the Ohrenberger Community center is a site!

Device – If your student needs a Chromebook for remote learning and did not get one at school, please reach out to your classroom teacher or building principal this week. In the days ahead, the district will be distributing Chromebooks to families who did not receive one at school on an invite-only basis. Keep an eye out for an email or text message with a link to register for a session so you can get one for your student(s) if you have not done so already.

Please feel free to reach out to us or your teacher over this time of closure.

Please stay safe and we hope to see everyone back at school on April 27th.

-Ed and John
