On April 25, the School Parent Council (SPC) donated children’s books to West Roxbury’s Diversity and Anti-Racist Little Libraries. The books are a collection of some literary works that tell and celebrate people of color’s experiences. SPC gifted the books to show support for the West Roxbury community and their efforts to address racism.
“It’s important to give back to the community in which our schools are located. And during these times, it felt important to pass on the message of kindness and compassion,” said Mette Arnmark, Co-President of the SPC.
There are currently two Diversity and Anti-Racist Little Libraries in West Roxbury, one on Quinn Way near the Parkway YMCA, the other on Greaton Road. Anyone can go to these free libraries and borrow some books, return them and find something new to read. There are books for all ages. For more information on these free libraries, check out @wrdiverselibraries.
