Hello Beethoven-Ohrenberger Community,
The School Parent Council hopes you are all well and adjusting to these unprecedented and confusing times. Last week we were all disappointed to learn that schools won’t open for the remainder of this school year; however, we support this very difficult decision. The SPC appreciates all the teachers and staff who are working relentlessly to find ways for our students to keep learning and challenging their minds in this continually changing atmosphere.
We are reaching out to remind everyone that Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8! Less than a week away! We know many of you want to thank your wonderful teachers for all of the amazing work they do with your children. The combination of technology and the children’s never ending imagination means there is a multitude of ways to show gratitude, and we wanted to share some ideas. For example: draw a picture, make a poster, write a poem, sing a song, make a card, do a dance, shoot a basket ball, play an instrument, plant a flower, or whatever way your child wants to say Thank You to their teachers and staff members.
Getting your child’s creation to the teachers is easy and flexible; you can send it by email if you scan it into your computer, take a picture of it, or do a video. Zoom is another fun way to celebrate. For example, you can set up a Zoom party where all of the children present their expressions to the teachers live. The options are endless to make your teachers feel appreciated for all they have done, and all they will continue to do, as we all navigate this new world. So share from the heart, and say THANK YOU!
Stay safe, stay healthy, and we will see you all soon!
